Roccaverano is famous for the Robbiola (cheese), but is also the starting point of many hiking and cycling routes. Our tip: start at Osteria del Bramante, then your journey is off to a good start.
From Ca' Pasquin it is a 45 minute walk to the village and only 10 minutes by car.

A short distance away and you are in the Unesco World Heritage wine region. The regions of Langhe-Roero and Monferato go way back in time in terms of “Vino” , even the Romans knew it: good wine comes from this region.
Everywhere you look the hills are covered with grape fields, this area contains 70% of all wineries in Italy and therefore many small wine farmers. 30% of all Italian wine is made here.
Famous wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco are within reach. But don't forget the Moscato d' Asti, still relatively unknown outside of Italy but more than worth tasting.
Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Timorasso, we can fill pages with what 's incredible to drink and we can certainly arrange a visit to the local wineries.

The last part of the route to Ca' Pasquin goes through a hazelnut orchard, endless rows, special every season. The Hazelnut the 'Gentile Rotonda' , called by some the best hazelnut in the world, grows here. And what grows well under the hazel ... yes : the truffle. In Piemonte you will find the most and the best truffles in the world. They also call Alba the truffle capital of the world with the Truffle Festival in October & November every year .

Piedmont cuisine is also known as the culinary heart of Italy. The recipes often passed down through generations by the “nonnas” are prepared with local quality products. Some of these local specialties are: antipasti such as vittelo tonato, carne crudo or a soufflé with Robiola sauce. One eats the thinnest, cut by hand pasta, Tajarin with ragu which is stewed for hours or the small taste explosions of the pasta : Agnalotti del Plin with butter-sage sauce. Brasato, local beef stewed in Barolo. And finally a creamy pana cotta. And this is just a small selection of the many dishes that the region has to offer. From eating at a Nonna to a three star restaurant, we are happy to arrange it. Within walking distance you can eat at our downstairs neighbours of Borghetto La Radice and a short drive away you will find more restaurants, such as Ca' Bianca in Mombaldone.

This area is not only known for food and drink, but here you can spend endless hours outside.
With an hour's drive you are at the coast, for a refreshing dive and a visit to Savona or the medieval coastal town of Noli. You can make a nice day trip to Nevi, Barolo, Serralunga d' Alba or to Alba. The cities of Genoa and Turin are recommended if you are looking for a bit more hustle and bustle.

Every season has its lover. The spring where the blossom can be found everywhere again and everything slowly turns green again. Summer with lovely warm days and balmy evenings. Autumn with its beautiful colours and wonderful 'late summer days'. The winter with fresh days, sometimes with snow and sometimes with a fresh sun. And yes, sometimes even with rain and wind, but then there is nothing better than curling up on the couch with a book and a glass of wine or grappa.

Google Maps

What3Words

Nu boekenItalie - Piemonte - Langa Astigiana - Roccaverano - Ca’ Pasquin.. ..Zo zou je inzoomen naar Agriturismo Ca’ Pasquin.
